Irish Whiskey

Irish whiskey is one of the world’s oldest distilled spirits, known for its smooth character and rich history. Crafted primarily from malted and unmalted barley, it is triple-distilled in copper pot stills, which gives it a lighter, cleaner taste compared to many other whiskies. By law, it must be aged for at least three years in wooden casks—often oak—within Ireland, developing notes of vanilla, honey, fruit, and spice depending on the distillery and maturation style. Styles include single malt, single pot still, single grain, and blended varieties, each offering unique profiles ranging from creamy and mellow to robust and complex. Whether enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as part of a cocktail, Irish whiskey reflects centuries of tradition, craftsmanship, and the warm hospitality of Ireland itself.

Scotch Whisky

Scotch whisky, often simply called “Scotch,” is a world-renowned spirit that reflects Scotland’s deep tradition and craftsmanship. Made primarily from malted barley or grain, it must be distilled and aged in oak casks in Scotland for a minimum of three years to earn its name. The spirit is often double-distilled (though some regions triple-distill), giving it a bolder, more robust character than its Irish counterpart. Scotch is categorized into styles such as single malt, blended malt, blended Scotch, single grain, and blended grain, each offering distinct expressions. Its flavor can vary dramatically by region—from the smoky, peaty whiskies of Islay to the lighter, honeyed notes of the Lowlands, or the fruity, balanced character of Speyside. Whether sipped neat, with a splash of water, or as the foundation of a classic cocktail, Scotch whisky is celebrated for its depth, complexity, and sense of place.
