The Celtic Society Book Club
March/APRIL Book Selection: Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson
For March/April, we're headed back to Scotland! We're also headed back in time, to the years just after the Jacobite Rising of 1745, as depicted in Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson. This novel has been praised throughout the ages—and while we may need to work a little harder to accustom ourselves to Stevenson's rich prose and to his characters' even richer brogues, this historical novel is well worth the extra effort.
That said, the Las Vegas Celtic Society Book Club is a casual affair. Even if you're unable to finish reading the book, you're still very welcome to attend the meeting. This book club is about sharing community and celebrating Celtic culture, and you won't be tested over your fish and chips or shepherd's pie, we promise! A table at McMullan's has been reserved, but please do RSVP below so we know we have plenty of room for everyone!
