This month we'll delve into some fascinating nonfiction by reading Powerful Celtic Women in History: Warrior Queens, Priestesses, and Wise Women by Elise Baker. In the introduction, Baker writes, "In this book, we will introduce the remarkable female figures of ancient Celtic history, real and mythological, whose legacies have influenced the contemporary women's rights movement." This history will prove a nice companion read to September's selection of Celtic fairy tales, and we're excited to learn more. Please join us! The book is available (for a fairly low price) on Amazon, but not at the local library. Just let us know if you need help getting a copy.

The Celtic Society Book Club is open to all interested, even if you don't have time to finish the book! All are welcome to come share in the conversation and camaraderie. Our space at the pub has been reserved in advance, but please do RSVP so we can make sure everyone's comfortable. Please email courtney@lasvegascelticsociety.org with any questions. Otherwise, see you there!
