The Las Vegas Celtic Society will hold its very first Book Club by meeting to discuss Ali Smith's collection of quirky, witty short stories, Public Library and Other Stories. Smith is a contemporary Scottish writer known for her dry humor and literary inventiveness. She's particularly known for her Seasonal Quartet, which was written in "real time" and published from 2017-2021. A many-times finalist for the prestigious Booker Prize, Smith was born in Inverness, Scotland.
You can check your local library for a hard copy, ebook, or downloadable copy. It is also available on Amazon via hard copy or Kindle. In addition, you can always check your favorite bookstore!

The Celtic Society Book Club will be a casual affair. Each month, the book club will read the work of Celtic authors and/or Celtic stories. No need to read the entire collection, if time or energy doesn't permit. We'll discuss the work as we see fit, and refreshments will be available for purchase from the pub.
Please RSVP by emailing Book Club Chair, Courtney Harler, at courtney@lasvegascelticsociet.org so we can reserve enough space to make us all cozy and comfortable.
